Champion Range and Target
Champion Target began in 1974 as a division of Federal Cartridge Company producing clay targets. The plant is located in Richmond, IN as it is close to supplies of petroleum pitch and limestone. The machines that make the targets were built locally and are still in use today. The main ingredients of clay targets, pitch and limestone, are stored in large silos at the plant. The pitch and limestone are weighed to make the correct composition (the targets have to be strong enough to survive being thrown from machines, yet fragile enough to break if they are hit by three or so pellets).
In 1997, Federal Cartridge Company along with Champion Target was sold to Blount International and placed into the Blount Sporting Equipment Group which was later sold to Alliant Tech System (ATK) in 2001. In 2004, Champion Target was renamed Champion Traps & Targets. Trap throwing machines and paper targets were later added into the Champion brand. In 2017, Champion rebranded itself as Champion Range and Target to solidify its dominate position in the outdoor industry. New and innovative shooting accessories are introduced into the brand each year.
Champion is a leading provider of quality trap throwers, paper targets, metal targets, clay targets, hearing and eye protection and shooting systems. Shooting is a fun pastime, and Champion produces a wide variety of products to enhance the experience for shooters of all levels. No matter your shooting discipline, Champion has a product for you. Become a Champion. Own the Range.

Hoppe’s
In 1903, Frank August Hoppe mixed nine chemicals and created the world’s most effective gun cleaner. As a well-trained young soldier, Frank knew that gun care went far beyond just a clean rifle, but actually helped to ensure his safety while on the front lines of battle. Since that time, Hoppe’s has emerged as the leading gun care company, having grown along-side hunters, shooters, and soldiers who depend on their firearms every day. It has remained the most trusted name in gun care by advancing and evolving technologies to meet those needs. From the ever-popular and versatile No. 9 and the quick and easy BoreSnake, to the marvel of efficiency we call Gun Medic, Hoppe’s is the only name you need to know for firearm cleaning and protection.

Nosler
Founded in 1948 by John Amos Nosler. While hunting moose in British Columbia in 1946, the bullets he was using failed to penetrate deeply enough to reach vital organs and kill the animal quickly. At the time, most jacketed bullets employed a single copper alloy envelope (the jacket) around a single lead alloy core. The jacket on most military bullets was closed in front and opened at the base. These full metal jacket bullets offered good penetration, but often failed to expand and passed completely through an animal leaving a comparatively small wound. Soft-point hunting bullets like Nosler was using had the jacket applied in the opposite direction to completely cover the base, but open at the nose. These bullets would expand to leave a large wound channel, but sometimes broke into small pieces with inadequate momentum to overcome resistance of moving through bone or muscle tissue.
The experience inspired Nosler to develop a new bullet design, intended to expand readily at low impact velocities yet maintain integrity at high impact velocities. The Bullets he developed were originally manufactured for personal use, using hand made, lathe turned jackets. In 1948 Nosler began to sell the partition bullets commercially, forming Nosler, Inc a family-owned company located in Bend, Oregon. Nosler is best known for revolutionizing big game hunting with its world famous Partition and Ballistic Tip bullets. With the company motto “Quality First,” Nosler manufactures premium component bullets, brass, ammunition, and semi-custom rifles for domestic and international customers.

Weaver
Weaver® Mounting Systems brings more than 90 years of innovation and expertise to the shooting experience. Engineered to be the most reliable scope mount systems available, Weaver offers a full line of rings, bases, & mounts. Founded in 1930 by the visionary William R. Weaver, the company is credited with bringing riflescopes to the mainstream by producing quality scopes and mounts that average American hunters could actually afford. The very first Scope, model 3-30, came complete with a Weaver scope mount. Weaver forged his name in the industry with innovations that have since become standards of excellence and built a company based on the sound principal of providing consumers with a high-quality product at an affordable price. That principal guides Weaver today under the ownership and backing of Vista Outdoor.
Weaver started the company in Kentucky in 1930 following the completion of a contract with the state of Indiana to produce license plates. He designed and produced the tooling himself and did all of the manufacturing on site, including grinding his own lenses and machining the parts. The company was a near instant success that revolutionized the shooting industry by putting magnified optics into the reach of average American hunters. In 1933, he moved the business to El Paso, Texas. By 1940, the company had become the largest producer of riflescopes and mounts in the world. Throughout the 1940s and 1950s, Weaver introduced innovations such as 1-inch tube bodies, a constantly centered reticle and its now-famous Split Ring Tip-Off mounts. Starting in the late 1960s, the company faced financial difficulties and was sold. In 2008, Weaver Optics joined ATK Sporting Group’s portfolio of brands which later spun-off to become Vista Outdoor in 2014.
